I am in love with an Arab, but my friends tell me never date an Arab, What should i do?

I am in love with this Arab man, but i have been warned not to date Arab guys. My friends claim that Arab men treat their woman terrible. Is that true? i do not think all Arabs are bad. This person does not even look like an Arab, he looks more Italian or Greek. He was born in Iraq but grew up in Canada so he is a Canadian.I really love him i think he is nice and very good looking, but i don't know if i should date an Arab. Have any of you white women dated Arab men?
